after 6 years at sofa.com, i got a call from kano offering me a job in a startup that was ‘going to launch some star wars products’.

I had to say yes.

Kano developed computer and coding kits for kids of all ages all over the world. Our mission was to empower a new creative generation to create and play with technology, not just consume it.

working for a startup was magic - stressful at times, like when I got in trouble with kanye west, but very rewarding as ecommerce/digital was a one man band, so everything was my job, and anything i wanted done I either did myself or didn’t happen.

it was an incredible opportunity to learn how to manage and deliver projects from beginning to end with a level of freedom I hadn't experienced before. It also made me more resourceful, more creative and ultimately a more 'can do' person. I also got very familiar with shopify and the challenges of taking something that’s essentially ‘off the shelf’ and adding bespoke complexity.
