that’s me right there.

if there was a perfect job for me, it would be ‘professional ice breaker’. I am the guy who knows his stuff, and even when things look like they are going up in flames I have my signature two-punch strategy. a quick joke followed by a reassuring ‘hey, we can joke about this, we are fine. we are not curing cancer, no one will die, let’s fix this thing’.

I’ve been around long enough in general, as I’m over 50, and also in digital years, so I’ve seen most of it. I haven’t seen it all because, well, ‘all’ is still being written, and these days mostly by AI.

I’m a big advocate of work/life balance, otherwise there’s no point being here. sure, we need to work hard. no, we don’t need to work until we drop. and yes, we can afford to be nice.

I have a beautiful family, love good food and drinking in moderation and have been doing bouldering for quite a few years now - I make a point of visiting a climbing gym everywhere I go, and I have collected quite a few in the last couple of years.
